During chemistry this week, the students did a digital escape room to save Guacamole. This escape room allowed students to practice doing mole conversions. Students practiced their new knowledge of moles, particles, grams, and liter conversions to solve the puzzles and escape the room.
To do the online escape room, there was a google form with 6 Digital Locks. As
students found solutions to the 6 puzzles, they typed them into the form line where it says to put their answer. A “STILL LOCKED” message appeared under each lock until the message was typed correctly.
Once all 6 Locks are Solved, the students are able to click the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the Form to reveal the message that they have escaped.
From this escape room, the students benefitted from collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and perseverance skills. Thus, it was a great way for students to apply their new knowledge.
